Comet ZTF-E3 flies past Sharpless 2-250 in Orion
in the evening sky
2/20/23

Now at 7th magnitude and no longer easy naked eye, this comet continues to be beautiful, with a long ray like gas tail ad a curving dust fan. This is the last time the comet will pass a significant nebula, but alas - Sh2-250 is terribly faint! The faint galaxies in the bottom of the frame have excellent spiral details.
