Minor Planet Alert for March 24-25, 2009:
Roger Harvey, Concord, NC, finds that minor planet (18590) 1997 YO10,
magnitude 16.1, will make a very close approach to the 12th magnitude galaxy
NGC 5211, J2000 coordinates 13h 33.2m, -01deg 02', 2009 March 24-25 UT. He
recommends that a movie or sequence of still pictures be made of this event,
and be made generally available. The earlier stages will be observable from
Europe and the later stages from North America. I invite anyone who might have
the interest and resources to monitor this event to contact Frederick Pilcher
at pilcher@ic.edu
